DAY FOUR – “Room for Prayer”

“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” Matthew 6:6

There it is again!
“….when you pray……”

People who love Jesus pray. If you say you love Jesus but do not regularly pray, read and then re-read this chapter.

How can you get along with Jesus unless you regularly get alone with Jesus?

I call your attention to two significant thoughts in this teaching:
  1. Make room in your daily schedule for prayer
  2. Have a room where you go daily to pray.

Jesus tells you that the “secret” to praying inspiring public prayers is to pray intimate private prayers in a specific special space.

Private prayer is personal prayer!
Private personal prayer is powerful prayer!

So, here’s the pattern:
  1. When you pray…..
  2. Go into your prayer room…..
  3. Close the prayer room door….
  4. Pray to your Father

I challenge you to they this pattern for getting alone with Jesus for one week and see if getting along with Him helps you get along with Him.

When there is room for prayer in your life then there will be a room for prayer in your life!

  1. Have you made room in your day for prayer?
  2. Have you designated a room for prayer?
  3. Have you established a pattern for “when you pray”?

Heavenly Father, thank you for reminding me of how important it is to make time to pray every day. With your help I will set aside a time and a place to pray beginning today! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
