DAY SIX – “Seeing the Unseen”

“….pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”  Matthew 6:6

Prayer is offering petitions to the unseen.
It seems to me then, prayer requires one of two things:
  1. Foolishness
  2. Faith

Which is it?
You must decide for yourself, but my choice is faith!
Here’s why faith is the easy choice for me.

First, the unseen object of my prayers is my Father, as in Heavenly Father. While it is true, I have never seen Him with my eyes I sense Him with my spirit. I see the majesty of His creation every day. I see answers to prayers I have prayed. I see the wonder of His Word nearly every time I read it.

And I pray to my Father Who sees!
He sees me! He sees my heart! He sees my needs! He sees when I am praying sincerely and when I’m praying selfishly.

Also, I pray to my Father Who rewards!
He rewards me with His presence when I shut out the distractions and get alone with Him! He rewards me with peace when I pray according to His Spirit! And He often rewards me with answers to my prayers and when He does, His answers often supersede what I asked!

  1. How do you see a God who is unseen?
  2. How should you respond to a God Who sees you?
  3. What should you do when the things you do see overwhelm you?

Heavenly Father I thank you that I am never out of your sight. You see me while I pray to you right now and you see my heart as well. Open the eyes of my heart that I may see you by faith. I thank you are a God who rewards! Reward me with your presence as I call out to you in the privacy of my prayer room. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
