Prayer & Fasting - Day 17

Twenty-One Days of Prayer
Devotions for Families
JANUARY 2019

DAY SEVENTEEN – “More Than Enough”
“Give us today our daily bread.” Matthew 6:11

Remember, as you pray this prayer you are not just asking God, but you are affirming your trust in Him to be your supply, to be your sustenance and to be your satisfaction.

He will supply the bread you need! And He will sustain you with the bread you need! And best of all He will satisfy you with the bread you desire!

The bread God provides for you satisfies every hunger you have – physical, emotional or spiritual!

How can His bread be so satisfying? Because He does just give you bread, He IS the bread!

Think about it:
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” John 6:35
“I am the bread of life.” (Jesus) John 6:48
“I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” John 6:51
“While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take it; this is my body.” Mark 14:22

Bread has long been referred to as the “staff of life”. It is one of the most basic of foods.
Bread can sustain and satisfy you for a while, but soon you will hunger again.
Feed on Jesus, the Bread of Life, and meditate on His Word today. See if He satisfies!

ASK:
  • Have I ever experienced the satisfaction Jesus can provide when I ask for His bread?
  • Have I been able to find anything else in life that satisfies like Jesus can?
  • If He is the life-giving Bread from Heaven where else will I find life if I fail to feed on Him?
  • When you take Communion and break the bread do you think about what that means?

PRAY:
Heavenly Father, thank you for sending Jesus to be our daily bread! I thank you that He is the Bread of life! Help me feed on Him today by faith. Feed me as I meditate in the Word today and as I listen to your Spirit speak to me. Thank you there is no need you cannot or will not satisfy through your Living Bread! Supply my needs today. Sustain me body, soul and spirit today. Satisfy me as only you can this day and I will praise you. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
