L – Learning
Learning the Bible and biblical principles will be a central purpose of the small group meetings. At least one-third of every meeting will be spent studying a Bible lesson.

I – Intercession
Praying together and praying for each other will be essential components of the small group dynamic. Time will be given to prayer during each meeting and prayer needs will be shared between meetings.

F – Friendship
Within a church it is important to have friendships. Developing strong healthy relationships happens best within the safety and intimacy of a small group and it will be one of the primary functions of the small group ministry.

E – Encouragement
The ministry of encouragement is essential to the development of a healthy church. Small group members will be expected to provide encouragement for every member of their group.

L.I.F.E. Groups will be formed according to these guidelines:

  • Each group will consist of 10 to 20 members.
  • Each group will have a leader and an assistant leader.
  • Each group will have a host whose home will be the primary meeting place for the group.
  • Each group will meet twice a month – on the first and third week of the month.
  • Each group will be the first responder for the pastoral care needs of its members.
  • Each group is to take responsibility for their own child-care needs.
  • When we start a new group we will promote an assistant and choose a core from an existing group and add new members to form that group.
